My worlds

In this reality, there are two interconnected worlds, two universes.

The mundane world

The mundane world is inhabited by mundanes, plain normal boring folks, all of them are human, no anthro animals in the mix.

More often than not, the cartoon world bleeds into the mundane world in the form of anomalies. The funrooms, the slide that never ends, toilets that turn alive and pink cursed underwears are examples of that.

The "zootopia" wolrd

Explored in the funrooms story, is an intermediate world between the mundane world and the cartoon world. The laws of physics there are the same as on earth.

The cartoon world

The cartoon world is inhabited by toons.

Toons look very different, they have fewer details and are much more obnoxiously colored. Their body is made of a substance that's both malleable like clay and sleek like rubber. Rarely they wear a full coat of fur that's very soft and fluffy.

Toons have a complete lack of organs, instead food is stored in their mass and converted into the same substance. This process is not well-understood and nobody knows why toons are alive since mundanes need blood, lungs, a brain and a heart to live.

In the world of cartoons, except for physical laws of nature, everything is a social construct.

• A character does not drown until they believe they can drown.
• A character hovers in place until they realize there is nothing beneath their feet.
• A character has unlimited strength until they believe to be weak.
• A character excels in any skills or suck horribly at any of it if they believe it.
• The space is never euclidean, if a character thinks they know a shortcut, that shortcut immediately manifests.
• If a prankster puts a fake painting in place of a dead end, the unsuspecting victim will walk through it unaware it was a dead end, but the prankster, knowing full well it was a dead end, would still run into the wall trying.
• Cartoon characters can pull oversized items from their pockets and generally can manipulate the 4th dimension while mundanes are limited to their plane.
• A character will only feel hungry if they see or smell food and even if they don't eat the food they will never starve.

As a result, placebo is very potent. If a character believes eating certain food makes them strong, it WILL happen.

As hinting above, some of these elements were inspired by real cartoons. Popeyes for example.

The laws themselves are as follow though:

Boredom is a crime: any toons that feel lasting boredom for any reason will rapidly be knocked out of it. They may fall asleep and wake up someplace unknown and dangerous or that may not happen instead they stay awake and to break their boredom something dangerous like a meteorite may fall on their head.

Arrogance is a crime: any toons who think they have a surefire way to win a specific scenario will always get the worst outcome regardless. Overconfidence is always punished.

Inflicting pain is a crime: any toons suffering will shortly pass out and wake up somewhere else. This is why the prefered method of torture is tickling because it causes no pain. The same effect happens during digestion, a toon will be eaten and wake up elsewhere.
